How to report a phishing site to Vultr

Reporting to Vultr, step by step

1. Open Vultr's Abuse Report Form at vultr.com/abuse/.
2. Under the abuse type, choose "Phishing". The form then shows the fields for a phishing report.
3. Enter your first and last name and your email address. A telephone number is optional.
4. Under "Targeted organization or brand", name the company the page copies, for example a bank. This field is optional but helps.
5. List the URLs of the phishing pages, one per line. Vultr asks you to keep each report to URLs from a single domain, so send a separate report for each domain.
6. Write a detailed description. Vultr warns that this whole field is shown to the party allegedly responsible, so do not put private details in it.
7. Type your name as the digital signature, confirming the report is true and accurate, and press Submit Report.
8. If the form will not work for you, email [email protected] with the same details.

What Vultr asks you to include

• The URLs of the phishing content, one per line, all from one domain.
• The organisation or brand being impersonated (optional).
• A detailed description of what the page does, up to 5,000 characters.
• Your name, email and digital signature. Vultr says it will not share your name or contact information with the reported party.

What Vultr can do

• Vultr's AUP says it may review customer content and remove, disable access to, or modify content that breaks the policy.
• Vultr may suspend or terminate the account and the customer's access to its services, with or without notice.
• Vultr says it cooperates with law enforcement, may report suspicious or illegal activity, and may disclose appropriate customer information when it does.

What Vultr cannot do

• Vultr's AUP says it reserves the right, but does not take on the obligation, to investigate violations.
• Vultr says it does not control or endorse the content its customers put on its services.
• One Vultr report should cover one domain only. A scam spread across several domains needs several reports.

What happens after you report

• Vultr says every report goes straight to the team that investigates and acts on it.
• Vultr says it acts expeditiously to verify and process reports, and that a thorough report is more likely to succeed.
• Your detailed description is passed on to the party responsible for the content, but Vultr says your name and contact details are not.
