Law enforcementThe FBI's central point for collecting complaints about cyber-enabled crime, including online fraud and scams.

How to reach them

Write the report

Paste the link, phone number or email address and we'll write the message for FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). You send it yourself.

What to include

  • Have the transaction details ready: the account used, date and amount, who received the money, and any name, phone, email or website the scammer used.
  • Save or print a copy when you submit; it is your only chance to keep one.
  • IC3 does not investigate or give status updates, so if the matter is time-sensitive, contact your local police as well.
  • IC3 does not work with law firms or crypto recovery services to get money back; anyone offering that in its name is a scammer.
