What to include

  • The quicker you act, the better your chance of getting money back; after you report, the FTC gives you next steps based on how you paid.
  • Save or print your report before leaving the page; you cannot get a copy afterwards.
  • The FTC does not resolve individual reports, and it will never ask you to move money to protect it or pay to get a refund.
  • Report identity theft separately at IdentityTheft.gov.
